Synopsis
In the final moments of Lear’s life, memory, delusion, fury, and grief collapse into one another as he relives the choices that destroyed his family and kingdom. One actor and one tattered cloak hold the whole world of Shakespeare’s tragedy.

An old king in the final flickering moments of life, moving through memory, hallucination, rage, regret, and grief.
Staging & Technical Requirements
One actor, one tattered cloak, and a spare performance space. There are no conventional scene or costume changes. Lighting and sound may create atmosphere, but the central theatrical object is the cloak, which becomes kingdom, burden, shelter, memory, and Cordelia.
